The day he won his fourth grade spelling bee, Dominic Breandan witnessed the murder of his mother.
She was the only family he had. With nowhere to go, Dominic is taken in by a group of dangerous men and falls into a life
of crime which ultimately finds him locked up in Riker’s Island prison.
Marco Flynn built a
crime empire on the street and just when he started to feel untouchable, he got busted and sent to prison. Marco built another
empire behind bars. Soon he was the man with all the power and all the respect. Everybody feared him from the other prisoners
to the guards.
When Dominic is befriended by Marco behind bars, they start making plans to build
a whole new empire. Things are going well until Dominic and Marco start finding out that they are not complete strangers after
all.
What measures would you take to avenge the ones you love? How far would you go for redemption? Who
would you turn to when you can’t trust anybody?
"This reminds me of a streetwise Catcher
in the Rye, the same kind of innocent narrative style. Grabs you from the start and holds you all the way. No wasted words,
no appeals for sympathy and no whining from a character who has the right to whine a little. Great story."
"A great forceful story that is well told."
"Excellent story-telling
and gripping narrative. This really draws you in quickly."
"So well crafted, visual
and completely well-rounded. I was quite simply blown away by the quality of writing."
